New lifestyle concept at Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa, Thailand
We live in a world of constant stress. There are pressures we know well: a demanding workday, the need to take care of our loved ones, never enough time to eat properly, to exercise, to relax. The new Wellness 360 degree centre at Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa, Thailand, aims to restore balance to everyone whose life is suffering from the effects of these physical, emotional and environmental strains.
Wellness 360 degree is a total lifestyle concept designed to enhance health, fitness and overall wellbeing. A range of packages is available including beauty, de-stress and detox programmes lasting 1, 3, 7, 10 and 14 days – all taking place against the exquisite backdrop of Anantara Si Kao Resort & Spa located in a beautiful unspoilt corner of Thailand.
Each treatments journey is tailor-made by our qualified Naturopathic doctor Gopal Govindasamy and carried out by the highly trained therapists at the Anantara Spa through the sense of touch, diet, massage, exercise and spiritual healing. Dr Gopal was born in India and is an expert in naturopathic medicine, yoga and meditation. He holds a Bachelor of Naturopathic and Yogic Sciences as well as a Post-graduate diploma in Hospital management and is a qualified colonic hydrotherapist.
The treatment programmes on offer recognise that the mind, body and spirit operate together as an integral system. At Wellness 360 degree, the approach is totally holistic and the primary purpose is to help guests to identify their own uniqueness and to find the power within to achieve optimal wellness and spiritual growth.
Guests may explore the powers of Ayurveda, the ancient healing science for body and mind pioneered in India. Ayurveda may be used to address specific conditions such as back pain, migraine or stress or may in incorporated into a general wellbeing plan that also includes a detox, body treatments, special diet, yoga and meditation.
The total Internal Cleansing programme works to combat the build up of toxins that can decrease the effectiveness of the body’s natural defence systems. Our consultant will prescribe regular exercise, good nutrition and daily elimination to improve lymphatic circulation and keep the digestive organs in top working order. The stress management programme is designed for those who feel the need to make positive lifestyle changes to combat the pressures of the busy modern world. This is done through a combination of centuries old-massage techniques, breathing exercise, meditation and detoxification processes.
The path to wellness will also include healthy food choices with a range of organic and spa cuisine menus prepared by the in-house chefs. At breakfast, for example, there will be an array of Wellness choices such as whole grains, freshly squeezed juices and wheatgrass shots.
Another integral part of the Wellness 360degree centre will be the wide range of yoga and meditation techniques on offer.  Yoga means “to bring together or merge” — as in joining the mind and body into a single harmonious unit – and through its practice guests will be able to create strength, awareness, and harmony in both the mind and body. The disciplines on offer will include, among others, Hatha, Ashtanga, Dynamic and Pranayama as well as 2,000-year-old breathing and meditation techniques.
